`why` 可以引导两种类型的从句：名词性从句和定语从句。
名词性从句
`why` 作为连接副词，在名词性从句中充当状语。
名词性从句包括主语从句、宾语从句和表语从句。
例句：`Why he took Chinese nationality in 1901 is a question that interests us.`
定语从句
`why` 作为关系副词，在定语从句中充当状语。
定语从句用来修饰名词或代词，通常位于先行词之后。
例句：`The reason why he was late was that he got up late this morning.`
需要注意的是，`why` 不能引导状语从句。
